Knee High Nature Walks

SENSORY STROLL
We’ll use four senses (no tasting!) to explore the natural world. Listen to the birds, feel smooth and bumpy bark, smell flowers and leaves, and look for living things all around us.
  COLORS & SHAPES
Not everything in nature is green or brown! We’ll look for reds, yellows, purples, and blues. Find circles, squares, and triangles, too!!

SIGNS OF THE SEASON
Each season brings a whole new world. We’ll take a walk to look for signs of Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter. How do plants change? What animals do we find this season?
  FUR & FEATHERS
On this walk, we’ll focus on birds and mammals that live in our neighborhood. From squirrels to sparrows, there’s lots of furry or feathered friends around!

SIX LEGS OR EIGHT
We’re going on a safari to find insects and spiders. Take a closer look at critters that crawl, hop, or fly.
  NATURE BY NUMBERS
Five points on a leaf, four legs on a squirrel, or two eyes on a bird – there’s lots to count!

KNEE HIGH NATURE WALKS are guided outdoor walks at your facility. When appropriate, the program includes the use of “special” tools, like magnifiers or binoculars. Since we are outdoors, we have lots of room for movements and games, too.

Program length: 40 minutes   Program cost: $50
Group size: up to 20 children   Minimum Fee: $150

DISCOUNT WHEN BOOKING MORE THAN 3 GROUPS PER DAY.

Traveling Touch Museum Programs

BEACH IN A BOX
Bring the beach to your classroom. Children will see and touch lots of marine artifacts, including shells, egg cases, seahorses, and more. We’ll learn about unique animals that make their home at the Jersey shore.

FOREST IN A BOX
NJ’s forests are home to all kinds of trees, plants, insects, and animals. Children will see and touch forest artifacts, including seeds, galls, nests, and all kinds of tree parts. We’ll also learn about animals that make the forest their home, using animal photos and the “big tree.”

TRAVELING TOUCH MUSEUM PROGRAMS are indoor programs at your facility. Children get to see, feel, and smell artifacts from NJ’s forests or beaches, and learn about the animals and plants that live there.

Program length: 40 minutes   Program cost: $50
Group size: up to 20 children   Minimum Fee: $150

DISCOUNT WHEN BOOKING MORE THAN 3 GROUPS PER DAY.

Nature Tales

WILD Jersey will soon offer a series of literature-based nature programs. Each NATURE TALE program will link a well-loved children’s book to a nature talk, using artifacts and live specimens, when possible. Not just a book reading, NATURE TALES are storytelling with props, puppets, or audience participation.
